The 2011 Dudley Hewitt Cup has been awarded to the Huntsville Otters.
The announcement was made Monday at centre ice at the new Canada
Summit Centre by Mayor Claude Doughty.
Along with host Otters, the champions from the Ontario Junior Hockey
League, the Superior International Junior Hockey League and the
Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League will all take part in the
weeklong tournmanet beginning Tuesday April 19. Semi finals will be
played Friday April 22 with the championship game Saturday April 23.
In making the winning bid, the selection commitee panel, made up of
representatives from the Canadian Junior Hockey Leauge the Ontario
Hockey Federation, the Ontario Hockey Association and the Ontario
Junior Hockey League, concluded Huntsville had everything a host
community required, including accommodation, facilities and volunteer
base.
All games will be played on the new olympic sized Summit Centre ice surface.
